On 08.04.2024, a training webinar was held as part of the activities for the implementation of the sustainable development goals «Quality Education», defined by the United Nations on the topic «Organization and planning of scientific research: development of a master’s degree dissertation» due to the organization of the Department of Turkic Studies and Language Theory of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University for master’s students in the specialty «Linguistics», «Foreign language: two foreign languages», «Turkology».

The seminar participants were presented with the structure of the master’s thesis, general requirements for the dissertation, methods for determining the relevance, purpose, and objectives of the study, delimiting the subject and object of the study, determining the theoretical and practical values of the work. Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor Ibrayeva Zh. K. emphasized the advantages of obtaining a master’s degree from KazNU and paid special attention to the rules of scientific publications of master’s students.

In addition, the seminar introduced the general and special scientific methods used in scientific research. Master’s students got acquainted with the activities that must be completed during the two-year study and were able to ask the organizers various clarifying questions. The Department of Turkic Studies and Language Theory of the Faculty of Philology often hosts events for students. There is great hope that this seminar will help young scientists in writing scientific papers.
