Teacher: Good afternoon everybody. Welcome to our party! Our today`s party is devoted to the world`s greatest poet and dramatist W. Shakespeare. Every Englishman knows more or less the works of his country`s latest poet. The last half of the 16th century and the beginning of the 17th century are sometimes called the age of Shakespeare.

Pupil 1: The 1st facts of Shakespeare`s biography are that he was born on April 23, 1564in Stratford-on- Avon. His father was a dealer in corn, meat, wool. His mother was a daughter of a rich farmer in the village of Wilmcote.

Pupil 2: People often call Shakespeare: «Our national Bard», «The Immortal Poet of Nature». We really know few facts of his life and many of them a doublful. But some facts are known to us and are proved by documents.

Pupil 3: We also know that being 18 years old, William married Anne Hathway, who was 9 years older than himself. They had a daughter Susanna and twins-son Hamlet and daughter Judith.

Pupil 4: It`s known that in 1567 Shakespeare went to London, to find a job, where he began writing plays staged at the «Globe Theatre». By 1592 he had been an important member of a well-known acting company.

Pupil 5: It`s known that only in 1611, at the height of his fame, Shakespeare returned to Stratford, where in April 23, 1616 he died. He was in a fine old church in Stratford.

Shakespeare wrote 47 plays, 154 sonnets, 2 poems.
The next item of our part is small scene between Shakespeare and his wife departure.

W: Anne, my dear. I`m to life in London, want to be an actor and to write plays.

A: Playing! Acting! My God! All actors are dirt. Actors drink all day! Actors never go to church! My God, You are mad, Willi!

W: Don`t be stupid, Anne! You are mistaken! You know, It`s not true!

A: And what about our children? We have 3 small children. I see, you have forgotten about them.

W: Anne! My dear! I shall come when I can I jut now I must go to London. I want to be an actor and to write plays!

A: My God! My God!

W: Try to understand me Anne. Stratford is too small, too slow, to quite, to boring for me!

Pupil 6: It`s known that only in 1611, at the height of his same, Shakespeare returned to Stratford, where in April 23,1616 he died. He was buried in a fine old church in Stratford.

Pupil 7:

«Hamlet, Prince of Denmark»

«To be, or not to be, that is the question
Whether it is nobler in the mind to suffer
The sling and arrows of outrageous fortune
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing, and them
To die, to sleep No more and by a sleep to say we end
The heart — ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh in heir to; It`s a consummation
Devoutly to be wish`d. To die, to sleep —
To sleep, perchance to dream…»

Pupil 8:

Быть или не быть — вот в чем вопрос;
Что благородней; думали покоряться;

Pupil 9:

Tir`d with all these, for restful death I cry,
As, to behold desert a beggar born.
And purest faith unhappily,
And gilded honour shamefully, misplac`d
And maiden virtue rudely stampeded,
And right perfection wrongfully disgrac`d,
And strength by Limping sway disabled,
And art made tongue tied by authority,
And folly doctor like controlling skill
And simple truth miscall`d simplicity And captive good attending captain ill
Tir`ed with all these from these would I begone,
Save that to die, I leave my Love alone.

Pupil 10: Shakespeare is known as a writer of delightful comedies and dramas. The Tragedies «Othello», «Romeo and Juliet» and «Hamlet» strike by depth of thought. His plays translated into many languages are performed on the stage of the best theatres of the world. His «Othello» was translated in Kazakh by M. O. Auezov.

Teacher: Dear teachers and students! I think you have enjoyed the play. The students of 9a and 10a were tried you feel the old times of Shakespeare`s world.

That`s the end of our party. Thank you four attention!
